Whether your child is new to Compass, or it's the start of a new term, you may find the information below a useful reminder of what to bring to playgroup and how to help your child settle in.
Compass starts at 8.30am and ends at 3:00pm for those with a full day space, and opens at 8.55am and closes at 11:40am for those with a morning space.
Each child will need a named bag that should be brought on their first day and which can stay at playgroup, containing the following:
a change of clothes (more than one please if potty training)
nappies if neede wipes if needed
nappy cream if needed
dummy if needed
If your child is staying for a full day, requires a nap and needs a comforter/toy to allow them to sleep, then please place this in a named plastic bag and hand it to astaff member at drop off. This will be returned at the end of each day. Please discuss with a staff member the maximum time your child is required to sleep.
Please send your child appropriately dressed for the weather as we spend a lot of time outdoors. Please remember sun hats, rain gear, hats, gloves etc. An obvious but very important request - please name everything!
If your child is booked in for a full day they will need to bring a packed lunch in a named lunch bag/box as well as a named water bottle. Please hand these to a member of staff on arrival. These will be stored in the fridge at playgroup, which is cleaned every day. No nuts (including Nutella and peanut butter) are allowed in packed lunches, and grapes must be cut in half please.
A snack will be provided for all children during the morning and afternoon. Please ensure any food allergies have been advised on the forms provided.
Settling in: We have historically found that almost every child settles really fast when staff take children straight into the playroom in the morning. We appreciate this can be a nervous time for families, however we all want what is best for your child, so please feel free to discuss any concerns you may have with the playroom staff at any time. If your child has any specific additional needs/requirements, then please make sure we are aware of these so we can provide as much support as possible.
Any important updates or information will always be emailed out to you.
We will also keep you informed of any other Compass news and updates on our
website & Facebook pages.
Should you however have any questions then please get in touch.
