Please find below information which may be useful with regards to the start of the new term.
Compass will be opening on Wednesday 18th August at 8.30am for those with a full day space and 8.55am for those with a morning space.
Under the latest government guidelines blended placements are allowed but it’s recommended they’re kept to a minimum. If your child is going to attend any other childcare settings we ask that you let us know.
Currently we need to limit the number of items coming into playgroup from home, so we request that children do not bring in their own toys - (sadly no treasure box for now.)
Each child will need a named bag that should be brought on their first day and left at playgroup containing the following:
- a change of clothes (more than one please if potty training)
- nappies if needed
- wipes if needed
- nappy cream if needed
- dummy if needed
- sun cream
Please note, we will not be able to provide these things at the moment.
If your child is staying for a full day, requires a nap and needs a comforter/toy to allow them to sleep, please place this in a named plastic bag and hand to a staff member at drop off. This will be returned at the end of each day.
We are no longer able to provide extra outdoor gear so please send your child appropriately dressed for the weather. The children will be spending a lot of time outdoors following government recommendations so please remember sun hats, rain gear, hats & gloves etc.
If your child is booked in for a full day they will need to bring a packed lunch in a named lunch bag/box as well as a named water bottle. Please hand these to a member of staff on arrival. These will be stored in the fridge at playgroup, which will be cleaned every day. No nuts are allowed in packed lunches and grapes must be cut in half please.
A snack will be provided for all children during the morning and afternoon. Please advise us if your child has any food allergies.
Please name everything.
Invoicing: we invoice at the beginning of each month for the month ahead (fees are paybale in advance). Invoices are sent by email so please check your Inbox and your Junk folders.
We have a 4 week notice period so please tell us as soon as you can if your child will be leaving Compass, as you will have to pay for 4 weeks from when you notify us, regardless of whether your child attends or not during this time.
Settling in: We have historically found that almost every child settles really quickly when staff take children straight into the playroom in the morning. We appreciate this can be a nervous time for families, however we all want what is best for your child. Should you wish to discuss any concerns or advise us of any extra needs/requirements your child may have, then please email us and we will be in touch to discuss these with you.
Drop off: please queue at the entrance and if possible leave 2m between you and the family in front. Please be patient with us as we all adapt to the start of a new term, and if possible allow extra time for drop off, as it will take time to ensure a safe and positive handover.
Collection: Currently we are asking parents to please arrive at 11.30am for morning pick up and 2.55pm for full day pick up. If you need to collect your child early (eg 2.30pm before school pick up), then please call the playroom in advance so they can have your child ready.
Any important updates or information will always be emailed out to you. We will also keep you informed of any other Compass news and updates on our website and Facebook pages.
Should you however have any questions then please get in touch.
