Compass Playgroup offers a safe, happy and enriching environment where young children can gain the immeasurable benefits of learning through play.

We are located in the Dean Park Primary Pre-School Centre, in the heart of Balerno.  Our premises provide an excellent venue for our children, aged 2-5 years, to participate in a wide variety of activities based around the Scottish Executive Curriculum Framework.

Compass Playgroup is a registered charity and is run by an elected committee, comprised of parents and guardians of children attending the playgroup.  We are members of the Scottish

Pre-School Play Association and are regulated by the Care Inspectorate.  During a recent inspection by the Care Inspectorate, we were graded 'Very Good' for the quality of care and support we offer as well as the quality of environment and staffing provided at the Playgroup.

In 2014, our wonderful playroom was painted and revamped (see Facilities for some photographs).  We were delighted to be able to spend some of our hard earned fundraising money on a brand new wooden kitchen set to provide a lovely home corner for the children. We have also bought new water and sand trays. The new room has been an instant hit with our children and parents alike!
